This is the day the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

-Unison Confession:
God of everlasting love,
we confess that we have been unfaithful
to our covenant with you and with one another.
We have worshiped other gods: money, power, greed, and convenience.
We have served our own self-interest
instead of serving only you and your people.
We have not loved our neighbor as you have commanded, nor have we rightly loved ourselves.
Forgive us, gracious God,
and bring us back into the fullness
of our covenant with you and one another.
Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
-Silent prayer
-Assurance of Pardon:
While it is true that we have sinned,
it is a greater truth that we are forgiven through God’s love in Jesus Christ.
To all who humbly seek the mercy of God I say, in Jesus Christ your sin is forgiven.
Thanks be to God.

#629 - What a Friend We Have in Jesus
Greeting Time
Pastoral Prayer followed by the Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Heidelberg Catechism Question and Answer #29
Q. Why is the Son of God called “Jesus,” meaning “savior”?
A. Because he saves us from our sins. Salvation cannot be found in anyone else;
it is futile to look for any salvation elsewhere
