Call to Worship
From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;

Confession and Pardon
-Invitation
-Unison Confession:
Let us confess our sin before God and one another.
Father, you tell us in your Word
that whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.
We confess that we have frequently relaxed our faith.
We have allowed ourselves to become cynical, angry, anxious and afraid,
How easily we’ve allowed ourselves
to crumple under the stresses of our lives.
Forgive us for our smallness of faith.
In your mercy, hear us,
for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
-Silent prayer
-Assurance of Pardon:
Hear the good news from 1 Peter!
“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.”
(1 Peter 2:24, NLT)
I declare to you who trust in Jesus, you are forgiven and free!

Pastoral Prayer followed by the Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Westminster Shorter Catechism Question 96
Q. What is the Lord's supper?
A. The Lord's supper is a sacrament in which, by giving and receiving of bread and wine according to Christ's command, his death is shown forth. Worthy receivers are made partakers of his body and blood by faith, not in a bodily or physical manner, to their spiritual nourishment and growth in grace, with all his benefits..
